Full-Time Travel: This level of play is available for players 9 –17 years of age. Teams are formed to each individual age group. Games typically take place during the months of April through mid July. Depending on the manager & the team, a team may play approximately 40 to 70 games. Due to the competitive nature of full-time play, practice begins outdoors in the fall, followed by indoors in the Winter months. Practice resumes outdoors in the spring and continues throughout the season. Tryouts for Full-Time teams typically take place in July for the following season. A 100% commitment is expected for players and their families to play full-time travel baseball. These commitments include participation in various fundraisers as well as all practices and games. Most games are held within one hour of Tinley Park. Tournaments can be held at locations with distances greater than one hour and may require overnight stay.
Part-Time Travel: Part-time travel managers are selected to organize a team before the summer ends to play part-time travel ball the next season. Tryouts are coordinated by the manager and pre-registration in the In-House league is required. Selected players work out with their Select team during the winter months and are drafted onto in-house teams the following spring. In addition to playing in the Chicagoland Sunday League, part-time Select teams play on Wednesdays. One to two tournaments are included in the part-time season. More information is available from any Bobcat league representative.
