  • Steve Bosco:
    • Received e-mail from Dick’s Sporting Goods
      • Baseball Kits / Softball Kits (11’’ or 12’’ Balls) to be distributed to the Bobcats – need a count
      • One Kit per Rec Team
      • Marcia to provide # of buckets for softball to request
      • Joe B. – 25 Baseball Buckets / 10 Tee-Ball Buckets
    • Update – Bettenhausen Field Improvements
      • Park District delayed sprinkler system project until after the 2018 spring season. However, it is possible (weather pending) that work can get done in early April before the season officially begins.

  • Randy Goss
    • Update on Budgets:
      • Waiting on one (1) Travel Softball Budget
      • Randy requests to be invited to the next Travel Softball meeting – to discuss check request/deposit policies and procedures.

 

  • Joe Bressanelli – Baseball Update
    • Registration is open for spring baseball
      • It’s come to his attention that the Bulldogs have passed out flyers at in schools in District 146 and have placed a full one-page ad in the park district seasonal booklet for the 2nd year in a row.
      • No Majestic uniforms are available – will go with similar uniforms to last year.
      • Travel Baseball Teams held a meeting earlier in the evening to discuss the upcoming season.
      • Bobcats will host three (3) tournaments this year:
        • 2018 Memorial Day Classic (12U FT and 10U FT)
        • July All-Star Tournament (9U PT)
        • July Tournament (11U FT)

 

  • Deanna Tuman – Concessions Update
    • New App/Website will be utilized this season for signing up to work in the concession stand.
    • No travel teams will be required to provide help in the stand if they are playing on the same day as a rec team.
    • Two-Hour time slots in 2018.
    • Team Moms – will not be required to work in the concession stand – however, they are in charge of scheduling their respective team’s parents to work in the stand.
    • Head coach and assistant coaches (2 assistant coaches per team that are officially registered) do not have to work in the stand.
    • Looking to potentially purchase an ice cream machine?

 

  • Brenda Nelson – Cheer Update:
    • 8th Grade Team
      • Participating in a Spring Session
      • Two (2) Competitions
    • Unfortunately, no places in the State Competition

 

  • Marcia Kissane – Softball Update:
    • Would like to implement the following changes for the 2018 Spring Softball season:
      • Mandate all infielders to wear a mask -> girls to buy on their own or to share five (5) team masks?
        • To be determined – but believe most parents would prefer their daughters to have their own masks.
      • Mandate each head coach register for National Alliance for Youth Sports (“N.A.Y.S.”) training
        • On-Line or Classroom/Seminar training is available
        • $20/Head Coach
      • Additional Fundamentals Training
        • $20 Add-on to registration
        • Promoting the training is encouraged – via flyers/Bobcat e-mail blasts
        • Adding tools for coaches to the Bobcat website – Tips / Drills / Instruction
      • All-Star Game –to take place in June (same as baseball) – same day as Family Fun day.
      • League Reps – what are their responsibilities?
        • Board clarifies that the responsibilities of the league reps are set by the Commissioner as they see fit
        • League rep benefits:
          • 50% off rec registration
          • No concession stand time required
