  • Steve (President):
    • Met with the Tinley Park Park District (TPPD) to discuss many topics for the upcoming season. Highlights include:
      • TPPD is okay with the Bobcats installing a sprinkler system on Bettenhausen Park Field 1. The Bobcats would be responsible for the cost of installation – TPPD would pay for water.
      • All vendors will need a Certificate of Insured before the Bobcats can procure their services.
      • Concession Stand to be inspected by a Health Inspector. There is now a requirement that at least one person is present in the concession stand that has food handler training.
      • Fire Department will inspect the shed. They will require “Flammable Cabinets” to be installed to store any flammable items (e.g., paint). They also require the installation of a fire door in the back of the shed (TPPD to pay for the door).
      • TPPD agrees to allow the bathrooms to be opened during Fall Ball.
    • Steve to meet with John Curran on Monday (2/27) to discuss the batting cages. TPPD may want to take ownership of the cages, but will pay for the repairs.
    • Bi-Laws Update
      • Updated language – members of the Board (Executive and Advisory) must have a child in the organization – removed “have had” from the requirement.
      • Paid positions – to include field maintenance and travel soccer commissioner (potentially).
    • All League Representatives approved by Executive Board.
      • Includes Marcia Kissane as Assistant Commissioner for Softball.

  • Bill (Secretary)::
    • No discussion items for the meeting.

  • Randy (Treasurer)::

    • Picture Day is April 30th.

      • Considering a co-schedule with the Bulldog organization.
      • Uniform Vendor: Tony Silvia currently looking at another option – much lower prices, but need to confirm.
  • Jim C:
    • Travel game schedule meetings in process; Securing umpires for the season – it’s moving along

  • Phil:
    • Soccer registration numbers are currently low, but expect a late push as that has been the trend in prior seasons.
    • School districts not allowing soccer on their fields for a full year.
    • Steve: No updates on travel soccer.

    • Registration down slightly from prior year.

    • Family Fun Day is June 3rd.

  • Nancy Zasada:
    • Discussion regarding the award won by Brantrell Seymour of Reavis High School.
    • The Chicago Bears Award ($500) to be delivered to the youth football program of Brantrell’s choice.
    • Brantrell selected the Tinley Park Bobcats organization. However, Brantrell wished that the son of his football coach at Reavis High School (Parker Zasada) benefit from the award. As such, the Zasada’s proposed assigning a portion of the award to Parker’s 10U Baseball Team.
    • The Board did its diligence to determine the impact of such a proposal. Randy Goss contacted the Bobcats’ outside advisors for guidance. The advisors determined that such award should only benefit the youth football program as specified by the Chicago Bears in their letter. Distributing the funds to other sports within the organization is clearly a misappropriation of funds and would jeopardize the 501(c)(3) designation of the Bobcats organization. As such, the funds will stay with the youth football program or otherwise be returned.
