Online Registration

Online registration opened on January 1st. You can go online and register and use your shares (if you have volunteered in the past). Spring Registration is from January 1st to March 11th for all Spring Sports.

If you register before the 20th you can take advantage of last years pricing which is as follows:

Soccer

  • Freshman Division (Pre-K to Kindergarten) – $115.00
  • Sophomore Division (1st & 2nd Grade) – $115.00
  • Junior Division (3rd, 4th & 5th Grade) – $125.00
  • Senior Division (6th, 7th & 8th Grade) – $125.00

Baseball

  • Shetland (Pre-K to Kindergarten) $55.00 (This division doesn’t come with pants, you can purchase for an additional $10.00)
  • Pinto (1st & 2nd Grade) – $110.00
  • Mustang (3rd & 4th Grade) – $125.00
  • Bronco (5th & 6th Grade) – $140.00
  • Pony (7th & 8th Grade) – $155.00

Softball

  • Pixie T (5-6 yrs old) $55.00 (This division doesn’t come with pants, you can purchase for an additional $10.00)
  • Barrettes (7-8 yrs old) – $110.00
  • Ponytails (9-10 yrs old) – $125.00
  • Powderpuff (11-12 yrs old) – $140.00
  • Diamond (13-14 yrs old) – $155.00

 

This year we will be going paperless. You can register online and pay with a charge card or you can register to the point of payment, take the amount the cart tells you, you owe and write a check. Please then attend one of our walk-up registrations to turn in your check, which will be determined after confirmation with Dick’s. If you need other payment arrangements, please email tinleyparkbobcats@gmail.com for assistance. You can also attend one of the walkups and we can help you register online.

      • According to Park District (Pat Callaghan as President), sponsors printed on windscreen is possible (Note: it was determined after the meeting that this was not true.  The Park District would allow removable sponsor signage on the windscreens).
      • Will contact Sullivan Screens for pricing.
    • Confirmation of incentives for travel baseball players on-going – question regarding Danielle Gorajski’s incentive for 2019 (v. her 2018 incentive as the Marketing Coordinator, which is no longer a position with the Bobcats.
    • October Field Days at Bettenhausen
      • The event went well on the baseball fields.
      • Only a couple of volunteers came out to assist on the softball field.
      • The shed was cleaned up and organized and ready for next season.
    • Plan is to schedule a Travel Baseball meeting in December – Location is TBD.
    • Working with Sports Huddle to set up a temporary Spirit Wear site similar to the prior year.

    • Update on incident with Tinley Park Bulldog player in a Bronco game.
      • The Bulldog player was suspended by the Bulldogs organization until the end of the spring season.
      • The Bobcats have banned this player from playing any game at a Bobcat field in future seasons.
    • Fall Field Day to take place after the Fall Ball season ends.

    • Field work needed on Field #2.
      • Outfield has a number of holes as result of last fall’s drainage project.

      • Considering doing fundamental camps in the fall instead of joining the Frankfort Fall Ball League.
      • Registration Numbers:
        • Enough players registered for just one (1) 11U Team.
        • Recommend fundamental camps for the other age groups (8U and 15U).
      • Registration to close on July 31st, 2018.
      • Steve advises Marcia to keep in touch with the registration numbers before making a decision on the fundamental camps.
      • Randy asks Marcia her feedback on the NAYS Training.Marcia believes the training was good, but was not “hands on”.  These fundamental camps will be “hands on”.
      • Steve requests an outline of how fundamental camps will be run prior to going that route.
      • Marcia has 5 or 6 interested trainers.

    • Registrations are down in every division. As of today, registration is at 171 – last year at the same time, there was 225.
    • Half of the registrations have come in over the last 10 days, so hoping that it’s more of a last minute thing v. numbers down due to competing organizations or lack of interest in flag football.
    • Requests Bill / Brandi to update Facebook site to reflect registration being open through Sunday July 15th– no late registrations will be accepted.
    • I’m sending one final blast to the Bobcat parents tomorrow via e-mail/text.
    • Field Update:
      • Have not heard back from Ron Woodworth or Mike D at Andrew on field availability for the fall season. I followed up with both today and I’m also checking in on field availability at Tinley Park High School.
    • Indoor Flag Football Registration: Only two (2) registrations and minimal inquiries thus far.

    • Open discussion with Board members and other attendees on ideas to encourage volunteers to take responsibility and show up for their concession stand shift when they don’t pay for a buy-out.

    • Interview with Ron Centanni of Discover Tinley is now available to be viewed on Tinley Public Access Channel or on-line. Interview discusses the Tinley Park Bobcats Organization and the sports offered to kids.
    • Softball Scoreboard Update
      • As discussed in prior board meeting, an inquiry was made by Nicholas Henkle regarding a scoreboard at Bettenhausen Park Field #2 for softball.
      • Approval by the Park District is required for the scoreboard as it has lights and may distract homeowners near the field.
      • A cost estimate for the scoreboard is approx. $4,400. This was the amount paid for the Challenger Scoreboard a few years ago.

    • Field Maintenance Day was last Saturday, April 7th.
    • Sprinkler System Project on Field #1 at Bettenhausen to start tomorrow, Wednesday, April 11th.
      • Additional electrical work to be done as part of the project – discussions ongoing on where to put the electrical box.
    • Need new signage around Bettenhausen Park – new signage is needed as the old signs (with the old logo) were put up.
    • Outfield grass at all 3 fields needs to be rolled as a result of the outfield drainage project last fall. Will contact the PD to request they roll the grass.

 

  • Brian Burke – Flag Football Update
    • Working with Andrew High School to secure the fields for the Fall season.
    • Working with Ron Woodworth of the TP Park District to secure Freedom Field for the Fall Season.
    • Trying to determine whom to contact about the field at Helen Keller School.
    • Registration for Fall Season is now open.
    • Roma in Frankfort is not yet interested in a partnership for an indoor flag season. Plan is to wait them out to compare registration numbers.

 

  • Rich Granata – Challenger Update
    • Would like to thank the volunteers at Field Maintenance Day who put up the helmet racks/bat racks on Challenger Field.
    • Trying to put together a Colt level team (15 – 16 yr. olds).
      • Would use Vogt Woods as their home field.
    • Challenger teams have received their uniforms from “Be Creative”.

 

  • Marcia Kissane – Softball Update
    • Looking for an extra box to hold the pitching machine near the batting cages.
      • Jim and Joe confirm they’ll be able to find her one as there is at least one extra box near the shed that is not being used.
    • High School Rec registration is now closed. 15 girls registered.
    • Waiting on Frankfort to release the game schedule for the 10U, 12U, and 15U levels.
    • Tommy O’Connell Fundraiser – June 22, 2018
      • Would like to know if the Bobcats can do anything for the event as an organization to help.
        • Further discussions to take place to come up with ideas to help.
      • One issue with 15U player – wanted to change teams as there are two teams at that level. Resolution is near.
      • Mokena has backed out of the Bobcat League at Barrette’s (8U). They wanted to use a pitching machine, but the Bobcat rules do not allow it.
      • All coaches have been given login credentials for the National Assocation of Youth Sports (“NAYS”) training on-line.
      • Any updates on background checks for coaches?
        • Steve to follow-up with Brandi Parke.
      • Questions on SI Play
        • Some coaches are not receiving the e-mails/communications from SI Play
          • Per Randy – Issue may be related to only some of the parents/coaches having the SI Play application. Communications sent through the App will not go through to e-mail. Only parents that have the App will receive those communications.
